Radhika Meera Dade is set to debut her highly anticipated album, “Cine-Pop.” This collection of songs is presented as an immersive experience, styled less like a traditional record and more akin to a cohesive suite or short film—a perfect encapsulation of the ambitious spirit often celebrated within Post-Rock circles. The official single video for “Since Yesterday” featuring Tracyanne Campbell & Mitch Mitchell offers a compelling preview of the album’s scope, blending soaring vocals with rich collaborative textures.

The record itself is described by the artist as a work that flows gently and easily in and out of each other—everything an album should be. Coming in at 33.3 minutes, “Cine-Pop” is designed to be played in one sitting, giving listeners a sense of nostalgic intimacy: “It’s like being in a friend’s house and noticing the things that are most important in their life – objects, family portraits, records, musical equipment, their curated accumulation.”
The album’s scope is vast, spanning generations and continents. It acts as a reflection of culture, community, fandom, and the deep familial bond between Radhika and her father, Sushil (Future Pilot AKA). The record’s heart resides in the family jams held across various personal spaces—garages, bedrooms, and garden dens.
The musical tapestry is rich with influences, drawing from Bollywood to Goth Pop to the distinct sound of The Glasgow School. Collaborations are central to its narrative structure: key contributions come from Eric Macdonald on hazy synth and keys, and Radhika’s mother, Vinita. Furthermore, the magic of local talent shines through via Mitch Mitchell (The Pastels), Gerard Love (Lightships/ex-Teenage Fanclub), and Tracyanne Campbell (Camera Obscura). The album’s sound is anchored in Glasgow at La Chunky Studio with Colin McGeogh’s excellent work on flute, keys, and electronics.
“Cine-Pop” is hailed as a singular, unrepeatable moment—the world filtered through the eyes of a dazzling young Indo-Scottish woman. Following the success of “Starry Eyes,” the album will feature other singles including “Feline Bandits” and a version of the classic “Since Yesterday.” The release signals not only an artistic debut but a profound cultural statement, proving to be a rich source of listening material for fans who appreciate musical depth and narrative complexity.
