With just days remaining before the release of his highly anticipated new album, acclaimed Progressive Rock artist Phideaux Xavier has unveiled “Do What U Will,” the opening track and latest single from “AutoMoto Animus,” arriving worldwide on July 6, 2026.
“Do What U Will” offers listeners another glimpse into the imaginative world of “AutoMoto Animus.” The song combines infectious melodic hooks, driving rhythms, and Phideaux‘s unmistakable lyrical perspective, serving as a compelling introduction to an album that balances progressive ambition with concise, emotionally resonant songwriting.

Following the release of the first single, “Hey Humanity,” “Do What U Will” further showcases the album’s streamlined yet richly textured approach. While “AutoMoto Animus” marks Phideaux‘s first collection of new material since 2018’s “Infernal,” it represents far more than a return; it opens an entirely new creative chapter.
Described as “a fable by Phideaux Xavier,” “AutoMoto Animus” is a collection of mysterious, thought-provoking, and sonically captivating songs that move effortlessly between poignant reflection, surreal storytelling, and moments of sly humor. Across eight tracks, the album invites listeners into a richly imagined musical landscape that rewards repeated listening without sacrificing immediacy.
Reflecting on the new album, Phideaux says:
I never quite know where a record begins until I notice that it has already happened. AutoMoto Animus is the latest chapter in that continuing accident. The arrangements are streamlined, letting fewer things do more, but the music’s strange creative engine is still very much running.
Produced by Paul Roessler, recorded at Kitten Robot Studios in Los Angeles between 2021 and 2025, and mixed by Rich Mouser at The Mousehouse, “AutoMoto Animus” continues Phideaux‘s tradition of meticulous craftsmanship while embracing a more focused and direct sonic palette.
