Mexican Psychedelic and Stoner Rock outfit Desert Mantra has officially unveiled “Megante,” the third and final chapter of their live-recorded EP, “Sarnoso Sessions,” which was released on August 04, 2026. Captured in the breathtaking and vast expanse of the Sierra del Sarnoso in Durango, Mexico, “Megante” serves as the hypnotic culmination of a raw sonic journey where Rock, Heavy Psych, and the Desert landscape merge into a singular, untamed energy.

Spanning 8 minutes and 27 seconds, “Megante” represents the closing cycle of the band’s latest musical exploration, following the previous live-recorded tracks “Saraswati” and “Mantra.” True to the uncompromising spirit of the “Sarnoso Sessions,” the entire performance was tracked in a single, unedited live take. By rejecting studio touch-ups and artificial corrections, the band—comprising Enrique Reza, David Castrellon, Didier Aguilera, and Juan Gutierrez—has preserved the absolute intensity, spontaneous improvisation, and genuine grit of the moment. The natural echo of the mountain range, the open desert air, and the live energy are fully embedded in every second of the track.
The visual and technical production behind the “Sarnoso Sessions” reflects a dedicated collaborative effort. The live audio capture and on-site staff operations were managed by Fernanda Regalado, Abraham Carrillo, and Elian Flores, while the striking visual identity and cover art for the release were created by artist Ramón Sosa.
Melding elements of Heavy Psych, Progressive Rock, Stoner Doom, and Stoner Metal, Desert Mantra continues to solidify their distinct position within the independent music scene. “Sarnoso Sessions” serves not only as a raw document of this specific era for the band but also as a testament to the profound connection between Heavy instrumentation and the natural environments that inspire them.
