Seattle-based Fuzzy Psych-tinged Doom Metal trio Hexecutioner have unveiled official music video for the single “Shapeshifter,” the opening track from their upcoming third album, “Ascension Rock,” set for release on October 23, 2026.

Grounded in themes of cryptids, high strangeness, and unseen forces, “Shapeshifter” explores an unsettling encounter with glowing, form-altering entities that bend time and reality. The track’s lyrical narrative, penned by vocalist and guitarist Erin Gravina, captures the surreal terror of witnessing dimension-shifting phenomena and questioning whether humanity has become the prey of forces beyond this plane.
Clocking in at nearly six minutes, the track opens “Ascension Rock” with Heavy, hypnotic weight, introducing an album framed conceptually around a sound frequency ritual that navigates the unseen energies of dark and light.
The band states:
Staring into the depths of the unknown, sensing the unseen forces at play. Energies of the dark and the light, of the old and new, are cloaked in secrecy. Wormholes to other dimensions, bending time and space, high strangeness surrounds Ascension Rock. The manifestations appear during the sound frequency ritual.
The power trio—comprising Erin Gravina (guitar, vocals), Daniel McManus (bass guitar), and Bryce Hebner (drums)—self-produced the record. Engineering, mixing, and mastering were executed by Dylan Wall at 7Hills Studio in Seattle, Washington. Gravina also created the original cover artwork for the release.
“Ascension Rock” marks Hexecutioner’s third release on Bandcamp, following their previous albums “Pagan Ground” (2024) and “Tornit” (2025). The new album will be available digitally as well as in multiple physical formats, including a first-edition lime green vinyl with yellow and blue splatter, a compact disc housed in a three-panel jacket, and a lime green cassette edition.
