British Progressive Rock veterans Credo paint an intimate portrait of a fractured world on their most ambitious and compelling new double album, “We The Disconnected,” set for release on October 23, 2026 via Gargoyle Records.
After more than three decades of recording and performing, British Progressive Rock band Credo returns with “We The Disconnected” — their fourth studio album and their first new release in 15 years. Issued by Gargoyle Records on October 23, 2026, the double-CD album finds Credo at their most ambitious and compelling, combining powerful, Melodic Progressive Rock with sharply observed lyrics addressing the pressures, contradictions and anxieties of
modern life.
“We The Disconnected” is an intimate portrait of a fractured world, with acutely personal reflections on workplace burnout, social isolation, political disillusionment, grief, addiction, and the increasingly bewildering demands of contemporary society. Yet amid the clearly expressed anger and frustration, Credo also finds moments of humanity,
beauty and reflection. The result is an album that feels both unmistakably progressive and remarkably grounded in everyday experience — soaring musicianship and memorable melodies carrying stories that are sometimes uncomfortable but feel intimate and deeply personal.
As the band describe it, this is Credo‘s perspective as “angry not-so-young men” trying to make sense of an ever-changing world.
The album opens with “Losing My Reason,” a ten-minute exploration of workplace pressure, burnout and the human cost of corporate cultures that can place financial considerations above individual wellbeing. “Table For One” turns the isolation of life on the road into a wider meditation on fragile mental health, social expectations and the
distorted realities created, in particular, by social media. Elsewhere, “Tell Us Why” confronts the continuing tragedy of mass school shootings in the United States, while the 15-minute “Flowers By The Roadside” reflects on the
heartbreak of those left behind by human tragedy. The second disc continues the album’s examination of contemporary society with “Fool’s Paradise” tackling political cynicism and the erosion of truth. “Bonkersaria”
provides a brief dose of appropriately surreal relief; while “Round And Round” dramatically reflects the individual cost of drug culture; and closing track “Left Or Right” considers the consequences of spending a lifetime following the expectations of others, only to discover that a single moment can send everything into a completely different direction.
Musically, “We The Disconnected” is a substantial statement from a band with more than 30 years’ experience behind them. The album was written by Tim Birrell, Mark Colton, Gerald (Mully) Mulligan, Jim Murdoch, and Mike Varty, with Varty producing, engineering and mastering. Mixing was handled by Karl Groom at Thin Ice Studio and Mike Varty at Gargoyle Studio.
