Abstrakt Lake is the instrumental, electro-organic project of multi-instrumentalist Balthazar Klimt. A curious musician and jack of all trades, Balthazar has, for around ten years, worked on projects marked in turn by Rock, Electronics, Progressive Rock, Metal and World Music.
The new single “Psittacalling,” mixing Prog/Art Rock and Electronics, is out today. It comes with a lovely video edited by Nazar Pasichnyk. Abstrakt Lake‘s music is based on field recording, reworked in studio and enriched with vintage synths and drum machines. In “Psittacalling,” almost all the sounds were recorded in a zoological park: birds, door slams, ambience… The track also features Artem Litovchenko (Sheetel, Thy Catafalque, Bruno Karnel…) on cello.
“Psittacalling” is taken from Abstrakt Lake‘s second album, “Meanderings,” to be released by Wormhole World Records on May 23th. Like the first opus, It was mixed and mastered by Riga-based producer Vadik Squarez (from Pop-Metal band All the Devils).
