This is the official trailer and YouTube teaser for Bassist Vocalist and Producer/Songwriter Alan Davey‘s first solo album in over 8 years. This incredible concept album is brought to you by Savant Guarde Records and features the Ex-Hawkwind, and current Hawkestral Gunslinger and Pink Fairies Main/Man Producer at his best. The album is titled “Electrum” and features Alan on all instruments with a special guest appearance from Ex-Hawkwind bandmate and David Bowie Violinist Simon House on the opening track. This album is Mastered in the UK by the legendary Producer Paul Cobbold. Alan Arthurs comes on board and does the cover art. The Alan Davey and Electrum logo was created by Rock’n’Roll musician and artist Spencer Alexander. This video was created by a longtime friend of Alan‘s, video artist Richard Standrin, in the UK. To say that Alan Davey is a busy artist would be the understatement of the century. Alan is currently working on new music all the time, and he contributes some of the best and most unique and beloved genre defining underdog releases of the last two centuries. If you haven’t been turned on, please do tune in. If you know, then you know. Alan‘s contributions to the Progressive and Psychedelic Rock world are impressive to say the least, but he’s only getting started. He joined Hawkwind in 1984 and first appeared on record with the band for their famed Solstice at Stonehenge live Recording where he became the youngest member to join the group. His respect for his hero Lemmy Kilmister is well known, and he doesn’t hide it either. He currently performs and records with the world’s finest and officially endorsed Motorhead tribute act “Ace Of Spades.” A personal friend of Lemmy, he was dubbed Bass Assassin #2 by his mentor and hero and is thanked as such on the Orgastmatron record.
Alan would become the third longest serving member of Hawkwind, and his multiple decades spanning tenure with the band and as a solo artist has given Alan a reputation of standing amongst the Best of the Best in respect to musicianship, personality and song craft. Savant Guarde Records will continue to spread the word and bring Alan‘s music to the world the way it deserves to be heard. Some other incredible music from Alan will be released in the new year. Please stay in touch. Watch the Skies!
The Latest solo effort from Alan Davey. Alan‘s multi decade spanning tenure with the legendary (now ex member of) Hawkwind saw Alan at some of his creative career peaks since joining the band in 1984 for the famous “Solstice at Stonehenge” live album. Alan would continue on for over twenty years knocking out classic after classic, until he would leave to branch out on his own and focus on his Motorhead inspired NWOBHM band GUNSLINGER who would be signed to Black Widow Records in the early 2000s. Alan continued on with his solo career in the early 2000s, he even rejoined Hawkwind several times, however he continued to create, produce and release album after album of critically acclaimed solo music and band releases as well. His own bands include Bedouin, Djinn, Gunslinger, Pre-Med and his Motorhead tribute act Ace of Spades. Alan also joined several bands including The Pink Fairies and HeadCat13, HeadCat13 was a tribute to the mighty HeadCat featuring ex members of the Lemmy Kilmister fronted Group. Alan‘s production work and releases with Cleopatra include Pink Floyd Reimagined (two lps), Arthur Brown’s Monsters Ball and Alan‘s now celebrated and critically acclaimed Hawkestral albums. Hawkestral features a large cast of exHawkwind members, and guest appearances and contributions from living exmembers of Hawkwind, Pink Fairies and other Classic Rock bands and mega star solo artists. A guest appearance of William Shatner singing Silver Machine and Sonic attack on two different Hawkestral releases have brought some much discussed and respected attention to the Hawkestral projects. “Electrum” is the first solo album Alan will have released in over 8 years and serves as a capstone to his flourishing career. Alan just isn’t slowing down, and 2025 just might be Alan’s finest year yet. “Electrum” boasts a guest appearance by ex-Hawk Simon House on Electric Violin. All other instruments and Vocals are done by Alan; however, the mastering is done by legendary Classic Rock producer and Rockfield Studios man Paul Cobbold. The album cover is hand painted by Alan Arthurs. This is a celebration of the legacies of Alan Davey‘s groups and captures the spirit of his best work. This might be his best solo effort yet.
