Mono published the track “The Place” taken from the original soundtrack for the feature-length documentary film “My Story, The Buraku Story“. The soundtrack, which makes the band’s first-ever full-length soundtrack album, is scheduled to be released on May 27, 2022, on CD and Digital, with a delayed LP release on November 11, via Temporary Residence Ltd. worldwide. The documentary explores discrimination against a group of people – commonly called “the burakumin” – who were classed into lowly groups and segregated from the rest of Japanese society for centuries. When director Yusaku Mitsuwaka reached out to us to create the exemplary score for such a culturally sensitive and significant subject, we were inspired and had to take onboard.
