Available on all digital platforms, “Mara” is the new single by Asa’s Mezzanine. Mara is the presence that, in night folklore, sits on the sleeper’s chest and paralyzes the body while the mind remains awake. It is the border between waking and dreaming, the liminal space where the body becomes a cell. It represents the third chapter of a thread running through the Tuscan quartet’s entire discography: “Onibaba” in “When She Met Herself” (2022), “Janara in “Rest and Fight” (2025), and now “Mara.” Three tracks, three presences watching from the dark. Like every Asa’s Mezzanine piece, “Mara” does not explain: it builds a place and leaves you inside it. No lyrics, no center to occupy, only dynamics, rhythm, and tension.
