Italian Psychedelic Rock project Atom Lux have uveiled a brand new single and official music video, “Mushroom Cloud Ecstasy,” offering a second glimpse into the upcoming EP “Kamikaze Butterfly,” set for release via Octopus Rising.

Blending Psych and Stoner Rock elements, “Mushroom Cloud Ecstasy” explores the timeless theme of war and humanity’s relentless hunger for power. The song portrays the urge to dominate as a dangerous addiction, an adrenaline fueled obsession that clouds the mind and leads to a distorted sense of ecstasy.
Through this intense and symbolic narrative, Atom Lux draws a parallel between this destructive craving and the risk of total annihilation, suggesting a path that could ultimately end in nuclear catastrophe if left unchecked.

Atom Lux is the solo project of Italian multi instrumentalist Lucio Filizola, who crafts a distinctive blend of Psychedelic, Garage and Alternative Rock. After earlier explorations in Progressive Rock, he developed Atom Lux as a personal creative outlet, handling every aspect of the project from writing to production. What began as a home studio endeavor has since evolved into a full live band experience.
