Following 2025’s “Pay Up” EP, an uncompromising chronicle of drug addiction and recovery, the band are back with more hard-hitting groove and gritty soul. Hailing from the Crowbar and Corrosion of Conformity school of Heavy, the riffs and swagger are front and center. Frontman Mike Riley’s grizzled, wildman vocals growl and croon, oozing charisma atop a wave of punishing grooves.
Across the album’s eight tracks, Beneath The Skin steamroll through a wide swath of Doom and Sludge, bringing the crushing weight of Sleep one moment, and ear-shredding vocals paired with Down-style sludge the next. Never settling for predictability, to top it all off the crew lays down a righteous and surprisingly melodic take on Cream‘s “Sunshine of Your Love,” delivered with class courtesy of guitarist Russell on vocals.
Russell (guitar):
“We’re a great mix of skills and personalities. Each of us actively own our part of the overall sound and constantly seek ways to experiment and improve. As a band, we enjoy each other’s personalities, try to be good brothers to one another, and have a great time cranking out music that we love.“
Josh (bass):
“This album overall was written more organically than the last but bass wise I just work with whatever Russ has going on and try to fill in the gaps.
We have a mostly unique style for the area so that allows us to bridge the gap between multiple genres, hopefully we can use that to reach different audiences and larger venues.“
Jimmy (drums):
“We’re four brothers that love music, and our sound reflects just that. I can’t wait to see what we come up with next, but I’m sure it’s going to rock!“
