Blending monolithic riffs with cinematic sound design and philosophical undertones, Beware Of Gods transforms personal collapse, addiction, and rebirth into a larger mythos centered around the protagonist I Nomad. The title references ‘Secondary Drowning’ : a rare but life-threatening complication where a small amount of water inhaled into the lungs during a near-drowning incident irritates the lining.
This causes fluid to build up (pulmonary edema) hours later, leading to breathing difficulties and a dangerous drop in oxygen levels.
While it can occasionally happen in adults, it is a particular concern in children.
The Archetype repurposes this tragic response to a child swallowing bathtub water through the lens of drowning emotionally in a stagnant liminal space between the regrets of the past & fear of an unknown future. This is the crossroads many people face in recovery from addiction, domestic abuse & childhood trauma.
