The most ambitious project in the history of BLIND GUARDIAN metal, “Legacy Of The Dark Lands”, has just come out! To celebrate the release, the band offers fans the official video for “War Feeds War”. The idea of recording an orchestral album originally came to the two minds of BLIND GUARDIAN – guitarist André Olbrich and singer Hansi Kürsch – during the 1990s, when the band began using orchestral elements to enrich their own opulent sound. In recent years, the gigantic project has begun to take shape and, in parallel with the epic sound cascades, the lyrical concept has been developed. That’s why BLIND GUARDIANs managed to find support from German bestselling author Markus Heitz, whose new novel “Die Dunklen Lande” was released in Germany on March 1st.

Today the band publishes the fifth and final trailer in which Hansi reveals more details about the recordings in the castle.

Hansi states: “There is no doubt, we are geeks. For those of you who still question it, even after the release of ‘Legacy of the Dark Lands’, you can find the definitive proof in this video. It is always fun for me to go back to the origins of my childhood. Burg Linn is definitely worth a visit“.

“It’s incredible that after twenty years we can really finish this exciting project. I feel really happy and more than satisfied. Every single track reveals spectacular worlds and tells a story. With this album our greatest creative dream finally becomes reality “, says frontman / singer Hansi Kürsch whose favorite author is equally enthusiastic about the collaboration:” It’s really crazy: as role players of Pen & Paper we used to listen to BLIND GUARDIAN while we played. And years later I work with the band, which is incredible. It’s great that certain things happen sometimes, ”recalls Markus. “Of course I immediately accepted to participate! This creative collaboration is very special for me. “

The two protagonists have actively cultivated their creative exchange over the past five years. “Markus is a great storyteller; with ‘Die Dunklen Lande’ he created the perfect setting and with the mysterious Nicolas the perfect character for our complex jobs. His inventiveness seems to be almost endless. It’s absolutely awesome and very inspiring, “says enthusiastic Hansi Kürsch, commenting on the fruitful collaboration with the famous fantasy author.

Both sides tell in their own way the story of the mercenary Nicolas and his involvement in the Thirty Years War. The author Markus Heitz begins the story in his book and the BLIND GUARDIAN continue it with “Legacy Of The Dark Lands”. What secret is Nicolas hiding? Will he be able to break the chains of war? How will your loved ones go? In “Legacy Of The Dark Lands” through BLIND GUARDIAN TWILIGHT ORCHESTRA, André Olbrich and Hansi Kürsch satisfy their ancient desire to emphasize the impressive choral singing and classical orchestral arrangements. It promises to be a work different from any other that the German quartet has ever published, or better: a work like it has never been heard before.
