The Portuguese term “Cafuné,” untranslatable in other languages, indicates the tender and sweet way of running your hands through the hair of your loved one, your spouse, but also a child, a baby.
And it is precisely the tenderness that comes from this gesture that Cafuné use to develop their music, or rather, their stories in music, almost ancestral tales and sounds that we often associate with a special world where dreams border on reality like a fog that licks the edges of a forest.
Antonio Pincione, formerly in the bands Lethean and Bededeum, together with his wife Chiara Vatteroni, Irene Lippolis, Emanuele Casu, Floriana Benedetti and Michele Vannucci offer a series of dreamlike and imaginary musical tales in the best tradition of Folk-Rock, with echoes of bands like Pentangle, Fairport Convention, Fotheringay, Amazing Blondel (but let’s not forget the flute of Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull) supported by splendid and evocative melodies that cannot help but remind us of fantastic (musical) figures like John Renbourn, Jacqui McShee or Sandy Denny (but the citations would be almost infinite)
Therefore, it cannot be avoided to say that Italy (and especially the esoteric area of Lunigiana where the sextet comes from) is certainly an inspiration for magnificent refined, touching and engaging ballads, which will envelop you with their scent of magic, of distant lands and times gone by.
The album will be available in physical and digital formats starting from June 21, 2025, an emblematic date all over the world to celebrate what we Westerners call the Summer Solstice.
