Leipzig-based Stoner Rock and Grunge outfit Chameleon Death Eruption has released the official video for “Hardly Dare to Hope,” the poignant lead track from their latest studio effort, “The Decay” EP.

Founded in the autumn of 2023, the German trio—comprising Baer (songwriting, lyrics, guitars, and vocals), Minzer (bass), and Holger Spreemann (drums, recording, and production) — continues to carve out a niche within the Heavy Psych and Noise Rock scenes.
Following their March 2025 debut, “The Death” EP, the band’s new material marks a profound exploration of human vulnerability and resilience.
“Hardly Dare to Hope” is a visceral descent into the duality of survival. The track’s lyrics navigate the harrowing space between “hope and despair,” utilizing stark medical imagery to describe a “restless mind tied to a bed” and a body “eroded by suffering.” With its raw, fuzzed-out riffs and Atmospheric Sludge influences, the single captures the exhaustion of those “left behind” and “traumatized,” yet somehow still fighting through the darkness.
“The Decay” EP was officially released on July 3, 2026. The record was produced and mixed by Holger Spreemann and is currently available for streaming and purchase via the band’s official Bandcamp page.
