“The Inklings were an informal literary discussion group associated with J. R. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis at the University of Oxford for nearly two decades between the early 1930s and late 1949. They would meet in the Eagle and Child pub and praise the value of narrative in fiction and encourage the writing of fantasy. On a recent visit to Oxford the pub had closed down which inspired the writing of this song at the loss of something historic.” – Crypto Knight
