Algarve, Portugal based Progressive Rock/Pop project Davinport (Dave Johnson), has unveiled official lyric video for the first single “Night Runner” taken from his upcoming new album, “The Great Awakening,” set for release on September 4, 2026.

“This is Dave Johnson and you may know me as one half of Crypto Knight or The Forgotten Man. Those chapters mean everything to me — but this one is different. This one is mine alone.This is the most ambitious and most personal thing I’ve ever put my name to. After years of working in bands and collaborative projects, Davinport is fully solo — written, recorded, arranged, and produced by me, from my home studio on the Algarve coast of Portugal.

“The Great Awakening” is a ten-track debut album that balances five instrumental pieces with five vocal songs. It’s a record centered around reflection, change, emergence, and finding your footing in a new world — themes that feel very close to home right now. The album cover draws on my roots in Northeast England, my years in Los Angeles, and the light and space of the Portuguese coast where I now live. All of that has found its way into the music somehow.
