Algarve, Portugal based Doom Metal band Dawnrider premiere a lyric video for the first single “Perishing Hour” taken from their upcoming album, “Five Signs Of Malice,” which will be released on October 3rd, 2024 via Firecum Records (LP) / Metal On Metal Records (CD and digital). We are proud to announce the signing of Portuguese heavyweights Dawnrider, who celebrate their 20th year of existence this year. Formed back in 2004, the band quickly became the spearhead of Portuguese Doom Metal, with their notable Psychedelic grooves and infectious Heavy Metal riffing.
The band’s fifth full-length titled “Five Signs Of Malice” will see the light of day on October 03, 2024. The band has come a long way and gone through many line-up changes to reach the doom metal excellence they present nowadays. Just like on the predecessor, “The Fourth Dawn,” on their new offering they play ’70s-tinged traditional Doom Metal with dominant, mostly Hammond-style, keyboards, ultra Heavy riffs and outstanding vocals. We actually heard it for the first time in late May, when we visited the band’s guitarist Hugo (with whom we’ve been co-operating since last year as he plays also in Els Focs Negres, among many other bands). The album was mixed and mastered again by none other than Tony Reed (Pentagram, Mos Generator, Saint Vitus, Electric Wizard, Blues Pills). The decision to offer them a deal was easy based on the music alone, but the fact that Hugo is such a personable and dedicated Metal maniac only made it easier.
Hugo Conim, the band’s founder and guitarist, commented: “After years in bands, recording and releasing stuff, I only work with people that I like, trust and worked with before, so it’s not a strange thing that Dawnrider will have the CD and digital version of ‘Five Signs Of Malice,’ our brand new album, on Metal on Metal Records! Avalanche of Doom!”
