Cinematic/Progressive Metal quintet Disconnected Souls have released a guitar and bass playthrough video of “The Bystander.” The track is originally by IYASHICORE, the anime inspired Electronic Metal side project of Disconnected Souls‘ vocalist Patrick Lloyd.

If you’re going to listen to a track on repeat for multiple takes at various angles, it better be a good one- thankfully, iyashicore as usual delivers something you can’t help but get caught up in.
Filmed against an electrifying backdrop of neon graffiti at Framework Studio, Manchester (UK), guitarists Matthew Simon Fletcher and Holly F. Royle, and bassist Felix Luca King, bring to life the intricate melodies and ruthless heaviness of one of IYASHICORE‘s most dynamic tracks.

Disconnected Souls emerged in 2018 and strive to create a distinctive sound that draws upon the depths of metal, while playing with tones and textures. Crafting a cinematic sound while exploring progressive elements, and entwining classical and electronic into their music. The quintet based out of Chester, England, unveiled their debut EP “Warring Elements” in 2020, followed by a diverse array of singles which led up to the release of their debut album “Fragments of Consciousness” in January of 2024 before drawing the year to a close with the haunting “Endless Winter.”
Disconnected Souls take their name from the growing disconnect between humans; both from each other but also within ourselves, as well as the increasing rift with the natural world. A theme that manifests across their music. In 2025, Disconnected Souls released “Spectral” featuring guest vocalist Jessie Powell (DREAM STATE).
