Ecuador based instrumental Experimental Progressive Rock project Don Bolo published the official video for the single “Jihad” taken from new album “UMMA” out on April 04, 2025. Watch the video through the YouTube player below:
“UMMA,” far from being just an instrumental and conceptual album, is an auditory odyssey transporting the listener to the edges of a desert from another era-or perhaps another dimension-where the tragic story of a Messiah unfolds, weighed down by the devastating burden of his destiny. This album delves into unsettling themes such as the psychology of fanaticism, the darkest corners of charismatic leadership, and the hypnotic power of faith. “UMMA” boldly invites listeners to venture into a profoundly strange, enigmatic, and revealing musical experience-a melodic chaos oscillating between introspective meditation and the relentless storm of contradictions and opposing forces. In the end, it emerges as a somber warning chant, a skeptical cry in the face of an increasingly surreal world.
Inspired by the vast universe of the science fiction saga DUNE by the legendary Frank Herbert, Don Bolo channels the philosophical concepts and worldview of this literary masterpiece into every corner of “UMMA,” blending seamlessly with their sonic identity.
