Mexican Canterbury-influenced Progressive Rock band El Castillo de Barbazul have unveiled the official full stream for their new album, “Sobre Finales,” released on July 24, 2025. Stream the entire album via the YouTube player below:
El Castillo de Barbazul explores sonic landscapes in “Sobre Finales” through instrumental compositions influenced by Progressive Rock and the Canterbury Scene. By adopting both the compositional and sonic aesthetics of these genres, the group embraces harmonic freedom to create atmospheres of varying density — from euphoric and tense passages to dreamy and awkward moments, expansive Drones, and Psychedelia.
The compositional and performance work began in early 2019, leading up to the recording sessions held between April 10 and 17, 2022. Throughout this period, the commitment of each year, rehearsal, and member intensified the pursuit of meeting the music’s true demands. After a long creative journey and a global pandemic in between, El Castillo de Barbazul reemerges to honor the title of its album and to serve the music as a group one final time.
