Seattle, Washington based band Everything Oscillating published the official video for the first single “Ensorcelled, Again!” taken from upcoming debut album “The Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are” due out on January 11, 2024. Watch teh video through the YouTube player below:
Everything Oscillating was founded in Seattle, USA in 2022. The “Rock Fusion” band is made up of
Dave Webb (Moon Letters, Spacebag, Wah Wah Exit Wound, Cryptic Slaughter) on Guitar, Mike
Murphy (Moon Letters, Authentic Luxury) on Bass and Keys, and Kai Strandskov (DAMA/LIBRA,
Stereo Creeps) on Drums and Percussion. The band continues in the direction that Dave has been
grinding for the past 20 years, blending through-composed instrumental sorcery, melodies worth
humming, and improvisational magic. On their 2024 LP, “The Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are,”
the band totally nails that balance, resulting in an album for music nerds, musicians, and casual
listeners alike.
With an album title that pays homage to philosopher Alan Watts, one might think that that The Taboo
is pretty heady stuff but EO play like their lives depend on it, bringing a sense of immediacy to the
whammy bar flutters, fretless bass growls, and Bonham-esq drum fills. Mixed by Robert Cheek (Band
of Horses), the fidelity matches the instrumental prowess. Imagine Steve Vai and Pharoah Sanders
sitting in with Rush, getting blissed out of their minds before covering Highway Star and you might be
in the right state of reality for “The Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are” by Everything Oscillating.
The band plans to tour in 2024.
