Hailing from Laukaa, Finland, Wizards of Hazards have built a formidable reputation for keeping the sacred flame of analog-driven metal alive. Deeply rooted in the legendary sounds of 1970s and 1980s Heavy Metal and Traditional Doom, the band utilizes a vintage songwriting approach that prioritizes raw, organic tone and a massive, physical sonic presence.
Their latest offering, “Point Of No Return,” represents the pinnacle of this sonic journey. Across eight heavy-hitting tracks, the band weaves Dark tales inspired by bygone eras, supernatural phenomena, and ancient folklore, delivered with the unmatched warmth of their signature Heavy-riffed style.
Wizards of Hazards’ legacy stretches back to 1989, when they were originally founded under the moniker Black Wizard. After nearly 25 years of refining their craft as a power trio, they expanded their lineup, rebranded as Wizards of Hazards, and released their acclaimed debut album “End of Time” in 2020, followed by the monolithic “Supernatural” in 2023.
For “Point Of No Return,” the band continues to refine their uncompromising, old-school sound. The album’s second single, “Whatever Lies Behind,” showcase this beautifully—produced, mixed, and recorded by Samuli Rimmi (2025–2026) with an atmospheric accompanying music video directed, filmed, and edited by Stacy Picard in the depths of the Finnish wilderness. Additionally, tracks like the somber “Life After Death” (recorded within the historic walls of Studio33) and the devastating lead single “Too Late” display the band’s incredible emotional range and compositional depth.
