“Today we release Sun Chariot, the third and final single from our upcoming album, Doors to the Dead (out Sept 14th). Where our last single, Dawn Goddess, was a song about renewal, Sun Chariot is the story of the death of the sun–a tale of complete annihilation.
The ancient cosmic wheel that nourished crops, warmed us and illuminated the known world is pursued across the sky on its daily cycle until it is finally consumed by darkness and chaos. The lyrics were inspired both by stories from ancient mythological traditions and also modern scientific theories of how the universe will eventually end in a “big freeze” where all the stars die and all matter and energy reach a resting point.
