French Instrumental Psych Doom band Qilin to release the vinyl edition of “Parasomnia” via Octopus Rising on October 25, 2024.
“We are happy to join Octopus Rising & the Argonauta roster with their many great bands. Since the beginning of our discussions, Gero has expressed a warm enthusiasm about working together on Parasomnia. After its release on 12th January 2024, this 2nd album has received support beyond our expectations. With the help of this well-established label, we felt that the time had come to try out the vinyl format as a shoutout to our fans” – says the band.
“Parasomnia” is the world of paradoxical dreams. A universe where the soul is torn between sleep and wakefulness, between visions and reality. Relying on this idea, born from a period of successive lockdowns, Qilin wrote this new record which is resolutely contemplative and conducive to escape. The album is granted the 4th position in the January Doom Charts.
Qilin will play at Westill Fest in Vallet, France, in early November, along with Orange Goblin, Monolord, Greenleaf, Slomosa and more.
Qilin is an Instrumental Psych Stoner/Doom quartet from Paris, France, that quickly made a name for itself on the French Stoner scene by instilling a harmonious, rich and Heavy mix of genres through the sheer force of their instruments with a swaying Psych-Fuzz atmosphere.
Get ready for a journey through canyons and valleys with pachydermic but graceful oscillations! This inner journey will take you to various unknown but familiar horizons where you will come across the chimeras and other mystical creatures summoned in the tracks.
Qilin is Thomas Vachy on lead guitar, Frédéric Bonneau on guitar, Benoît Caillet on bass guitar and Mathieu Guibert on drums. They share a common taste for Stoner/Doom and various styles at the crossroads with a strong desire to share their passion and their feelings with authenticity.
