The Black Cat’s Eye from Frankfurt stand for Psychedelic Rock at its best and without compromise. After many live concerts and work in the studio, the five-piece band presents an extraordinary debut album with “The Empty Space Between A Seamount And Shock-Headed Julia,” a surrealistic title that says it all, because the band has a penchant for magical moments, shifting boundaries and new interpretations. The five-member musician collective, which came together in 2018, is stylistically influenced by bands like Pink Floyd and King Crimson, but also by Genesis, Yes, Popol Vuh, Tangerine Dream, Neu! and Can.
In addition, the band musicians bring influences and experience from previous projects – and from very different areas such as Jazz, Metal, Modern and Experimental Classical Music or Indie and Stoner Rock.
The Black Cat’s Eye anchor their common style in the realm of Psychedelic Rock. The centrepiece of their album is the 20-minute instrumental “Kill The Sun And The Moon And The Stars,” which can certainly be heard as a musical description of a universal story of creation and destruction.
