Press release (Press This Music PR):
Genus Ordinis Dei present “Examination,“ the fourth episode extracted from their metal work entitled Glare of Deliverance, which is scheduled to be released on December 4, 2020 via Eclipse Records.
“Examination” continues the telling of Eleanor’s story, picking up where the previous episode “Edict” left off. The Holy Inquisition captured her after a brutal chase in the forest and now has her in its clutches. The Inquisitor wants to get to the truth, at any cost, but Eleanor keeps it inside herself, jealously. Which of the two will have won it ?!
“In this episode, we introduce a new character, The Inquisitor,” says lead singer and guitarist Nick Key. “I played the part and it was a lot of fun to play this character that is both elegant and creepy. The Inquisitor is an important figure in history and tries to force Eleanor to confess her guilt which consists in the presumption that she is dealing with the Devil (represented by the apple). Emilia Scarpati Fanetti, the actress who plays Eleanor, showed us all her talent in this episode with a full range of emotions from frustration to fear. ” Guitarist Tommy Monticelli adds “the location is the fantastic Malpaga Castle, near Bergamo, a medieval castle just 30 minutes from our hometown. We had the entire castle at our disposal for the whole day! It has no modern elements and is perfectly preserved as it was in the 15th century and this made shooting easy without the need for post-production. We shot footage for more than two episodes in one day and that was the hardest part, all team members worked hard and without interruption, we are enormously proud of it!“
Glare of Deliverance is the band’s third LP, produced by Tommaso Monticelli (Jumpscare, Eternal Delyria, Geschlecht) at the Sonitus Studio. This new record is a collection of ten individual songs, each accompanied by its own music video. Each episode intertwines with one another, creating a sort of short film that tells the story of a young woman named Eleanor, persecuted by the Holy Inquisition.
Glare of Deliverance includes ten tracks of powerful symphonic metal that will leave you breathless. Tom Roberts‘ art comes to life in the horror-style storyline, capable of making you feel helpless as Eleanor faces the corrupt inquisitors.
