Following the EP “Cave Transmission” (2019) and the singles “Runaway” and “Zero Sum,” Grind Fever present “Between Tides,” the final single ahead of Søma, the band’s debut full-length album, “Søma, “set for release on December 04, 2026.
“Between Tides” delves into a landscape shaped by loss, memory, and the difficulty of letting go of what can no longer be recovered. The track moves through an emotional landscape where old promises linger like ghosts, as it searches for a way to exist after rupture. It is an inner confrontation between grief and overcoming, where longing is transformed into strength for what still lies ahead.
The composition reflects the evolution Grind Fever have been revealing in the tracks already released from this new work. Retaining the weight and density that define the band’s identity, “Between Tides” brings together instrumental intensity and emotional depth, exploring a more introspective side of the band.
The track is part of “Søma,” an album that brings together different moments and ideas developed by the project over the past few years. The title itself carries a double meaning: the sum of different parts that form a whole, and soma (σῶμα), “body” in Ancient Greek. It expresses a relationship between body and mind, between who we are and the experiences that shape us. “Between Tides” is, therefore, another fragment of this universe: a moment of confronting what we have lost, but also the responsibility to carry on.
