Following the overwhelming release of “The Caveman“, the Breton duo Moundrag unveiled “Morning Epitaph” on July 25th — a dreamy Progressive ballad that serves as the second preview of their highly anticipated new album “Deux,” out October 17th via Spinda Records and Stolen Body Records.

Inspired by the nocturnal reading of a science fiction classic, “Morning Epitaph” transports us into a vast and hallucinatory world, where cosmic landscapes blend with Morpheus’ sheets. In this limbo between the real and the unreal, a man comes face to face with Death, who — with a gentle yet unwavering voice — announces his final farewell.
The result is a melancholic and hypnotic piece, filled with whispered vocals and melodies that float atop elusive harmonies. With direct echoes of 70s Progressive Rock (King Crimson, Genesis), Moundrag weave an immersive atmosphere that fuses tragedy and beauty with modern, meticulous, and uncompromising production.
From Wildness to Elegance
While with their first single “The Caveman,” Moundrag showcased their rawest and most primal side — an uncompromising burst of Hard Rock — with “Morning Epitaph,” they reveal the opposite end of their musical spectrum: introspective, melodic, and expansive. Two sides of the same album, which is shaping up to be their most ambitious work to date.
“Deux”: Moundrag’s New Sonic Journey
This is the second full-length release by brothers Camille and Colin Goellaën Duvivier, further cementing their identity: a universe where ‘70s Hard Rock, Heavy Psych, and theatrical Prog merge with mythological, fantastical, and dystopian lyrics. Recorded at TAF Panoramix Studio (France), produced by Goudzou, and mastered in Sweden by Hans Olsson, the album will be released as a co-production between Spinda Records (Spain) and Stolen Body Records (UK), in a limited edition across multiple formats:

- Sky blue vinyl (300 copies)
- Black vinyl (400 copies)
