Surprises are abound with TDBH’s signature fusion of Psychedelic Hard Rock and Metal. From the ABBA-inspired strings in the bridge to the blast beat passage during the outro chorus; soulful melody is intertwined with punch, cyclic riffs are intertwined with textures and depth.
The Knoll/Lynne core duo is once again supported by an all-star lineup comprised of Johan Niemann and Rikard Zander (Evergrey) on bass and keyboards respectively, whereas drum duties are handled by Emily Dolan Davies (The Darkness) on this ride. A very special guest appearance by Aarón Serfaty on bongos (Jon Anderson, Sérgio Mendes, Alan Pasqua) sets the tone early for an explosive, Prog-tinged Hard rocking journey.
The vision for a unique artistic flair to the sonic landscape prompted TDBH to partner with Mixing Engineer Marcus Jidell (Grammy Nominated and Swedish Grammis Winner – Candlemass, Avatarium, Soen) on “Sister.” Mastering is once again handled by Robert Pehrsson (The Hellacopters, Lucifer, Tribulation, Imperial State Electric) at Studio Humbucker.
After the collective’s introduction with their first single “Dragon,” “Sister” will leave enthusiastic listeners wondering what may be next. The Devil’s Blind Horse is surely as excited to find out.
Following the recent release of “Dragon,” The Devil’s Blind Horse are embarking on the beginning of an exciting chapter. The group is already gaining buzz for their forthcoming EP, “…Alas, we ride…” more to revealed anon.
“THE DEVIL’S BLIND HORSE is an unabashed celebration of all of the things that I love about music” says Alex, adding: “It is the journey in pursuing the music that I hear in my head… It’s my definition of that perfect collection of sounds and songs, artistically earnest and uncompromising, from beginning to end.”
Knoll, a veteran of the Los Angeles metal scene with a storied past in 999 Society and a brief stint in Soineshank, has crafted a unique soundscape with The Devil’s Blind Horse. Drawing inspiration from legends like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Robin Trower, Graveyard and Opeth, the band’s music transports listeners to a golden era of Rock and Roll, imbued with fresh energy and innovation.
