Russian Progressive Chamber Rock duo Iamthemorning have unveiled a brand-new live video of “Chalk & Coal,” taken from their forthcoming album & concert film “Live at St Matthias.” Recorded at London’s St Matthias Church, the concert will be released on September 5th, 2025 in a deluxe hardcover book edition, including a Blu-ray and no fewer than three full-length live albums.

Launched via Kickstarter, the campaign has already exceeded all expectations. The original target was met in just three hours, while all stretch goals were achieved within ten. The band have now added an additional goal — the inclusion of a short documentary about their life in the UK.
“The campaign was so successful it swept us off our feet,” says vocalist Marjana Semkina. “We very rarely talk about ourselves, so we thought this might be a nice opportunity to let those who are interested get to know us better.”
As a first preview, the performance of “Chalk & Coal” has been shared online, highlighting one of the darkest and most evocative moments of the show. The project also features solo performances, with the first single from Semkina’s own live set already available HERE
Looking ahead, Iamthemorning have confirmed that work has begun on their fifth studio album, planned for 2026. “Every spare penny from this campaign will go towards album number five and, hopefully, some live shows — or maybe even a tour,” adds Semkina.
With “Live at St Matthias,” Iamthemorning continue to bridge intimacy and grandeur, while placing their community of supporters at the very heart of their creative journey.
