Today, the Brooklyn based independent Rock band Glass Lungs are pleased to launch their new single, “Absolution,” in preparation for the release of their new EP, “Afterglow,” due out on August 22nd.

Guitarist Alex Lehneis comments on the single:

Glass Lungs has always used our music as a platform to explore mental health and the profound impact of depression. While political discussions often surface during our rehearsals, incorporating those themes into our songwriting was unfamiliar territory—and admittedly, a daunting step. However, during the writing process for ‘Absolution,’ the ongoing conflict in the Middle East became an unavoidable topic of conversation. Regardless of political affiliation, one undeniable truth emerged: innocent lives were being lost. Chad’s lyrical direction aimed to confront the hatred that fuels such violence, urging listeners to reflect on the destructive consequences of division. If we continue down this path, what will remain? Musically, the song’s dark, dissonant tone naturally guided this message, reinforcing its emotional weight. We believe ‘Absolution’ stands as one of our most powerful and thought-provoking tracks to date.
