Japanese Samurai Doomsters Hebi Katana published the official trailer for upcoming album “III” due out on December 13, 2023 via Unforgiven Blood Records. Stream the trailer through the YouTube player below:

The third full-length album from Hebi Katana, known as “Tokyo Samurai Doom.”
This is a full-length album with a Heavier sound that has become stronger after a member change and overseas tours and trips to Tou-Mei-Han, Sapporo and Okinawa!

The band’s royal doom riffs and mellow, dark melodies reminiscent of The Obsessed and Trouble have been the talk of the town, especially overseas, and both their first album “Hebi Katana” (2021) and second album “Impermanence – Mujo” (2022) have been released on CD/LP/CD on labels both in Japan and overseas. CD/LP/cassette releases on national and international labels. Their dark and melodic doom sound attracted a lot of attention, especially from Doom/Stoner maniacs in various countries.

This, their third album, retains the royal doom/hard rock sound they have built up so far, but with a strong sense of jam feeling forged through expeditions, including overseas tours, and a truly impressive band ensemble. The band’s ensemble is truly impressive, and the band’s growth and progress can be felt in combination with the change of members. The songs, which have been produced in collaboration with a hundred well-travelled live acts, have an even more vivid finish. The band’s songwriting is based on the doom/stoner sound, but also explores the band’s own unique sound.

The band’s songs include “Hallelujah Anyway,” a straightforward attack with royal Heavy riffs and a mellow chorus, “Depressed Blues,” which extracts and distills the bluesy, darker side of Doom, and “The Lost City,” which combines mid-tempo Heavy riffs with dark vocals and develops into a more Doomy shuffle boogie in the second half of the album. The richness and variety of the tracks on the album is remarkable, including “Darkest Priest,” which develops into a doomy shuffle boogie in the second half, and “Lost,” which moves from an arpeggio-driven dark melody into a heavier, more subdued development.

Tokyo Samurai Doom’s rapid ascent begins here and now!

Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, Doom metal trio Hebi Katana was formed in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. Of what started in extensive jam sessions and first demo recordings on an iPhone, should soon become a monolith of a Heavy Doom debut, when Hebi Katana recorded the album in August 2020. Just a couple of months later, the samurai doomsters self-released the album on CD, tape and digital formats, while Argonauta Records released vinyl edition in 2021. Hebi Katana’s second album “Impermanence-無常” was released in Japan on February 23rd, 2022 via Unforgiven Blood Records.
