The enduring favorite of Finnish sketch humor and TV entertainment, and a founding member of the Kummeli group, Timo Kahilainen, takes a new turn in the music spotlight. Just in Time, under Kahilainen‘s leadership, has just released its second single, “Yesterday Is Gone Forever,” through the Eclipse Music. Although Kahilainen has been combining his work in music with comedy throughout his career, this release by the Just in Time band represents Kahilainen‘s second music publication under his own name.
In the band Just in Time, playing alongside Kahilainen is drummer-vocalist Gilbert K (known for Pekko Käppi KHHL, Pate Mustajärvi), vocalist Suvi Karjula (in the Mood), guitarist Timo Timonen and Mikko Löytty (Q.Stone, Dave Lindholm, etc.).
The single “Yesterday Is Gone Forever” represents a significant milestone for Kahilainen, who has been entertaining Finns for over three decades. This song serves as a preview of his upcoming album set to be released on April 5th 2024. This marks Kahilainen‘s first full-length solo release. One more song will be released as a streaming single before the album. In addition to digital releases, CD and vinyl LP editions are planned for the album. The musical influences of the album reflect Kahilainen‘s favorite artists: Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers and, of course, The Beatles.

Currently, long-time fans of the Kummeli group and Finnish music enthusiasts are surely looking forward to what Kahilainen will achieve in his solo career. Having had a long career in TV entertainment, Kahilainen, with his new release, is ready to show that he is, in fact, much more than just one of Finland’s beloved comedians. Without diminishing his skills as a comedian, he is also a talented musician and songwriter, ready to capture the hearts of his audience in a completely new way.
