[News] Karmakanic share new single “Cosmic Love” taken from upcoming album

Jonas Reingold is delighted to announce the release of “Cosmic Love,” the first single from “Transmutation,” the sixth studio album from his critically acclaimed solo project Karmakanic. Watch the official video through the YouTube player below:

The album, Karmakanic’s first in over eight years, features a glittering array of Progressive Rock royalty, many of which are featured on the new single. Joining Reingold on this single are vocals from John Mitchell (Frost*, Lonely Robot, ASIA), drums from Craig Blundell (Steven Wilson, Seve Hackett, Frost*) and lead guitar from Randy McStine (In Continuum, McStine & Minnemann).

About his choice of “Cosmic Love” as the first taster from “Transmutation,” Reingold says; “How do you choose a single for a prog album? You don’t. Some things aren’t meant to be overthought – just felt.”

About working alongside Reingold, John Mitchell comments: “It was an absolute pleasure to work with Jonas. We’ve discussed collaborating a few times over the years and we’ve become good friends. So it was great to finally fly to Vienna and make it happen. I’m so happy with how it’s all turned out.

Reingold has said that the vast depth of world-class talent which features on the album can be likened to the Prog equivalent of Barcelona FC! With names such as Steve Hackett (Genesis), Simon Phillips (The Who, Toto, Judas Priest) and Nick D’Virgilio (Spock’s Beard, Mr. Big, Big Big Train) also stepping up to feature on the album. It demonstrates the high regard in which Reingold is held by his musical contemporaries. Transmutation is not only a renaissance for Karmakanic, it is also a veritable Who’s Who of the very best in Progressive Rock.

Recorded across Nashville, Los Angeles, Germany, and Austria, the production captures every nuance for a breathtaking sonic experience, carefully mixed by 5x Grammy award winning mix engineer Chris Lord Alge (Rolling Stones, Muse, Prince, Tina Turner) in his Los Angeles based studio MIX LA.

Of the album’s first single, Reingold concludes: “I love writing uplifting tracks celebrating the forces that truly unite us. So get on board, get started – join me in the Cosmic Love.

Transmutation” releases on March 07, 2025 and will be available on CD, Vinyl and via streaming services. A celebration of the power of independent artistry, all formats are released on Jonas’s own label, Reingold Records.
