Czech Stoner Post-Rock band Lambda welcomes the upcoming spring with the new album “Vere Modus.” Seven tracks representing Greek pantheon Gods and Goddesses include also their home Mount Olympus. The composers worked with the themes of nature’s elements like water or earth, setting to music even the pulse of life itself. Stream the second single “II.Pontos” through the YouTube player below:
“We let the planet and all life on it get destroyed during the story of the last album Heliopolis. We started with the end so we could now start from the beginning. From ponds, plants, insects, wood, and stones to the restored general fuzz. After every cruel winter, there has to come a spring of recovery. The people in the past made up Gods when they saw a force of nature they couldn’t explain. We perceived the elements with the same religiousness when we shot the music videos,” explains the idea of “Vere Modus” the bassist and graphic designer of the band Václav Ruttkay.
Ruttkay and the cameraman Viktor Karban made a minimalistic video for every track on “Vere Modus.” Sets of macro shots of individual elements of nature will be released on the band’s social media, the fans will have a chance to see them live as projections at the concerts.
The instrumental project got into the viewfinder of Czech and foreign promoters with its storytelling concept without using any lyrics. From its beginning, the band performed over one hundred and twenty concerts across fourteen countries of Europe alongside All Them Witches, Stoned Jesus, or 1000mods. In January they were picked as one of the three Czech music talents to represent the Czech Republic at prestigious Europe’s largest showcase festival Eurosonic Noorderslag, in May they will take part in the Estonian Tallinn Music Week.
“Vere Modus,” the second album by Lambda comes out on CD and digital platforms right now, in autumn of this year it will be available also on vinyl. The record was produced, mixed and mastered by Amak Golden from Golden Hive Studio in Prague.
