[News] The Last Giant publish the video of the new track “Between light”

Conjoined by a mutual appreciation of distortion, outside-the-box-thinking and flannel shirts, The Last Giant – comprised of Jamie Hatchbar (guitar/synth/programmed drums) and bassist Chris Cope – are Britain’s most northerly prog/tech-metal band.

The instrumental Shetland duo have released their new track Between Light online ahead of their debut album at a later date.

The track is a seven-minute rollercoaster of metal adventurism with flourishes of synthwave allied with post-rock atmosphere.

It will be added to streaming services soon.

It follows the duo’s EP Chronos//Kairos, which was released in 2015 to acclaim under previous name Giant.

Veteran rock writer Malcolm Dome hailed that EP as “uplifting…manages to be both complex yet danceable” while Ally McCrae (ex-Radio 1) said it was “monster music- soaring, technically intimidating, riff-laden guitar fire”.

Taking inspiration from Between The Buried And Me, Haken, Every Time I Die, post-rock and synthwave, The Last Giant – whose members feature in many other notable Shetland acts – create a big sound; pun most definitely intended.
