Built from weight, tension, noise, and raw emotional pressure, “Saint Catharines” immediately establishes the bleak and uncompromising atmosphere of what lies ahead. Lost Relics have never been interested in making heavy music comfortable, and their latest offering pushes that philosophy even further.

Formed in 2018, Lost Relics have evolved into a three-vocalist unit, combining abrasive Sludge, Noise, Post-Hardcore aggression, and Dirt-soaked Rock into a sound that feels simultaneously chaotic and tightly controlled. Their music carries the crushing density of the underground while leaving enough room for hypnotic passages and unsettling atmosphere to seep through the cracks.

Saint Catharines” sets the tone for “Monuments to the Useless,” a five-track EP that explores disillusionment, pressure, aggression, and the quiet collapse of modern life. The band draws from the bleak, expansive heaviness of Neurosis, the raw experimental force of Melvins, and the abrasive urgency of KEN mode, while forging those influences into something unmistakably their own.

Across the EP, Lost Relics move between hypnotic Desert Rock passages and punishing Sludge-driven intensity. Rather than relying solely on volume or aggression, the band builds tension deliberately, allowing riffs, vocals, noise, and atmosphere to collide until the pressure becomes impossible to ignore.

Lyrically, “Monuments to the Useless” continues Lost Relics’ exploration of disillusionment and the weight of contemporary existence. There is no polished escape route here and no attempt to soften the edges. The result is a release that feels raw, claustrophobic, confrontational, and deeply human.

The second single, “False Idols,” is scheduled for release August 28, giving listeners another glimpse into the EP ahead of its full September release.

Monuments to the Useless” was recorded and mixed by Felipe Patino at Green Door Studios in Denver, Colorado, and mastered by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado. The EP will be released worldwide through Golden Robot Records.

With “Monuments to the Useless,” Lost Relics are not attempting to smooth out the rough edges. They are sharpening them.
