Venice, Italy based Psychedelic Stoner/Rock’n’Roll band Malota have unveiled the official music video for the single “In a Common Grave” taken from their second full-length album, “Scapegoat,” released on October 10th, 2025 via Go Down Records.

In a common grave, where all the good in the world has been buried: ethics, ideals, love, peace, kindness, justice, and the empathy that should guide humanity. A common grave we gaze upon from above with indifference—yet it does not only stare back at us, like Nietzsche’s abyss; it seeps into us, hollowing us out, making us apathetic toward others, whether living or not, visible or invisible. It condemns us to survive a life that is no longer ours—and perhaps never was.” – Malota

Malota‘s sophomore studio album, “Scapegoat,” released by Go Down Records, drops four years after their latest EP. The title conjures the image of a sacrificial lamb, symbolizing the degradation that permeates our world, the anguish born from hatred, fanaticism, and the profound fear of isolation.

In this new chapter, the band takes a bold sonic turn: rhythms slow to a menacing crawl, melodies grow darker and more foreboding, and the vocals carve out a raw, visceral space filled with screams and despair. The Rock influences of their early days are cast aside in favor of a metallic, gritty, and monolithic sound, brimming with tension and an unyielding, uncompromising edge.

The album’s striking cover features a woman locking eyes with the viewer, her silent gaze heavy with judgment. She embodies all those who have suffered—and continue to suffer—at the hands of ignorance, cruelty, and a toxic culture shaped by a male-dominated world.

With “Scapegoat,” Malota delves deep into the intricacies of human relationships and the pervasive anxiety of facing an uncertain future. The album reflects on the violence of conflicts, both past and present, channeling a profound sense of unease and disillusionment with contemporary society.
