[News] Marco Machera published the official video for the track “Building Homes” taken from his new album

It is with great pleasure that we present this incredible release from the Baracca & Burattini label, distributed exclusively by G.T. Music and is promoted, especially abroad, by Micio Poldo Communication.

Marco Machera‘s new album, entitled “Dormiveglia,” a sober and minimalist journey between light and shadow, dreams and glimpses of reality, and which sees international musicians of unquestionable value and artistic charm as companions in the story, including Steve Jansen (ex-Japan), Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto….

I don’t make music, I make it happen” – this has always been Marco Machera‘s motto. Musician by night, translator by day (or vice versa), he releases new music when he has a reason to do so, in opposition with the business-oriented logic of the music industry. “Dormiveglia” is a reflection on ingenuity and nowadays’ artists, on the crack between imagination and reality which gives life to the mystery – the lucid dream of creation.

Dormiveglia” features Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto, as well as contributions from Steve Jansen (former member of seminal Japan) and other incredible musicians from around the world.

The video for the song “Building Homes” was created through artificial intelligence, although “guided” by Marco Machera and artist Alessandra Condello, who constantly investigates the dialogic relationship between traditional art and artificial intelligence. The main objective was to highlight the “mistakes” of AI: the imperfections that bring the resulting images to life, often with a disturbing feel around them.

In his own words, Marco Machera is “a translator by day, a musician by night – or viceversa.” He divides his time between fiction and video game translation and music production. “Dormiveglia” is his fourth solo effort and a very enchanting and atmospheric album, that, as the title itself suggests (“Dormiveglia” is the space of time between sleeping and waking. It’s a magic time when you grasp the tail-end of dreams with your fingertips. I don’t think there is an equivalent word in English, at least one that is as strong and fascinating as dormiveglia (half-asleep?).

These are songs about music — in fact, it’s almost meta-music. A personal reflection on the meaning of music, in a sense. A spiritual outlook on the relationship between sounds and words, an investigation on imagination and life. I got some much-needed help. Tony Levin, Alessandro Inolti, Eugene, Pat Mastelotto (Pat contributed to several tracks and got involved in the pre-production, together with engineer Bill Munyon). Steve Jansen, legendary drummer for the band Japan and currently involved with Exit North, has provided the drum programming and additional textures to a song, and other fantastic musicians (Julia Zenteno, Beth Fleenor, Julie Slick, among others) make an appearance as well. Also, I’m thankful to 28 Arte Colectivo in Mexico City for their invaluable support during the making of the album. And the cover artwork by German-based Ukrainian artist Anna Malina is just wonderful.” (from Marco Machera‘s website www.marcomachera.com)
