[News] Math-Rock trio Denude shares their second single “12th Battle on the Isonzo” from their highly anticipated LP

Following the release of their debut single, “Oh Friend Entropy,” Midwestern Math-Rock trio Denude shares their second single, “12th Battle on the Isonzo,” from their highly anticipated LP, “A Murmuration of Capitalist Bees,” arriving in 2025.

Comprised of veterans from Chicago and Milwaukee’s underground music scenes-Matthew Parrish (Piglet, Dr Manhattan), James David (Murder in the Red Barn, Fuiguirnet) and Jesse Schomisch (Fuiguirnet)Denude continues to push the boundaries of their sound with “12th Battle on the Isonzo.” The single offers an intricate tapestry of layered instrumentation and lyrical depth, taking listeners deeper into the themes of disillusionment and existential tension central to the upcoming album.

12th Battle on the Isonzo” reflects the band’s commitment to exploring modern-day anxieties. Guitarist and vocalist James David captures the sentiment in his own words: “We exist atop layers of excess, seeking happiness in the vacuum between peaks and valleys. I’m aware of the horrors that result from my participation and can do nothing to prevent them.” His words resonate throughout the track, driven by Parrish’s dynamic drumming and Schomisch’s bass lines that build a foundation for David’s searing guitar.

The trio’s longtime collaborative history and shared roots in the Midwest’s DIY scene infuse Denude’s sound with an authenticity honed over years of playing intimate spaces. Produced with Shane Hochstetler (Child Bite, Call Me Lightning) at Howl Street Recording in Milwaukee, “A Murmuration of Capitalist Bees” was recorded in just 14 hours, allowing the raw intensity of Denude‘s live sound to shine.

“12th Battle on the Isonzo” is available now, setting the stage for Denude’s forthcoming LP, set for release via Expert Work Records/Dipterid Records. Order “12th Battle on the Isonzo” HERE.
