Montreal-based Heavy duo Méchant Colosse has unveiled official lyric video for “Que Dieu Blesse L’Amérique,” the second single taken from their upcoming four-track debut EP, “Éponyme,” released on May 28, 2026.

Formed by Félix and Daniel—both active members of the Montreal Punk Rock outfit RIPÉ—the side project originated from a shared intention to step away from fast-paced Punk and explore a slower, significantly heavier musical direction. Performing with French lyrics, the duo intentionally eschews guitars entirely, building their raw sonic identity strictly around a heavily distorted bass and drum setup. The resulting sound combines elements of Stoner Metal, Doomgaze, Sludge, and Alternative Rock into a dense, low-end driven wall of sound.
The four-song EP “Éponyme” was recorded in July 2025 alongside producer Ryan Battistuzzi, with final mixing completed by Jérôme Boisvert in the autumn of 2025. Following the rollout of their debut single “Perdu dans la forêt” in January 2026 and “Que dieu blesse l’amérique” in March 2026, the complete EP “Éponyme” is scheduled for official release on May 28, 2026.
