Men of Mayhem are a Stoner Metal/Hard Rock band based in Turin, Italy.
“Doomed To Life” is not a concept album, but there are themes common to almost all the songs: a sense of deep and at times unsustainable malaise towards an existence that is not perceived as free, but forced within certain canons by the established power, seen as generic source of evil, which manipulates people’s thoughts through the media machine, and by the voluntary lack of reaction on the part of people.
In this way people appear devoid of values and feelings, reduced to automatons who only care about appearances and continue to accumulate objects, and incapable and immobile against the abuses of power.
In this context, mental disorders appear, which increase the discomfort of those who still do not want to resign themselves to a life devoid of joy and feelings.
Internal passion finds no outlet except in vice, and the sense of estrangement from the rest of humanity evokes demons that persecute those who still have feelings, dragging them down into hopeless darkness.
Thus the protagonist feels condemned to live, incapable or forced not to put an end to his existence, which he lives as a torment awaiting the end.
