[News] Mother’s Cake to release “Studio Live Session”

Official Press Release from the band:

Since our first studio album we have this habit to record them sooner or later live. This is how “Off The Beaten Track” and “Live at Bergisel” was born. Off The Beaten Track came about because we wanted to know how much the songs on an album that we had been playing live for more than 3 years had changed over time. Live at Bergisel was more an attempt to see how far we could push our own limits with an outdoor production with live projections on a budget. But what is the STUDIO LIVE SESSION at the Little Big Beat Studios?

Little Konzett, the man behind the controls at Little Big Beat, is a bit as crazy as we are, he believes in sound, believes that “vibes” don’t just happen in the audible frequency range and that magic can be preserved, i.e. recorded. Little’s approach is as acyclical as it gets. All recordings on the STUDIO LIVE SESSION live at Little Big Beat were made on an analogue console (SSL4048 G+) and on 2x 24 tracks of analogue tape (Studer A820).  Everything was recorded live (so also the bloopers have been preserved :-), with the help of Raphael Neikes (synth, git, vox) who is already responsible as co-producer for CYBERFUNK!. This album is raw and true as a concert but also crafted in a very special manner, on a kind of equipment as we did never before.

Pressed on 170 grams white vinyl, limited to 500 pieces and hand-numbered in a beautiful gatefold, so be quick to get a low number.  The planned release date is 22nd October, but the pressing plants are extremely busy at the moment, so we can’t guarantee the exact date yet, but we are optimistic to be on time.
