Nashville Stoner/Doom Metal Duo Materializer have unveiled official music video for eight-minute sonic opus “Unwind” taken from upcoming debut album, “As The Body Flies,” Out October 02, 2026.

On their first record as a duo, the Poole brothers double down on unpredictable songwriting, arrangements swinging from crushing and chaotic to serene, carrying an uncanny devotion to the sound first forged in their previous project, The Swell Fellas.
Spanning nearly eight minutes, “Unwind” moves between dissonance and drone, delivering some of the record’s heaviest moments while still leaving room to breathe.
Materializer describe the song as the mantra of the album, calling it “a unique track that flirts with total dissonance and drone” while still delivering some of the record’s heaviest moments. Of the album as a whole, they add: “We wanted to create the heaviest record we’ve been a part of while also leaning into our roots of melodic vocals, emphasizing on compression and release, chaos and serenity, and balancing the light and dark in a way that feels in harmony with the world around us.“
Materializer emerged from the wreckage of The Swell Fellas, a band known for blending gritty, ethereal soundscapes, Heavy riffs, and unpredictable songwriting. After eight years of creative evolution, DIY shows, and countless miles on the road supporting King Buffalo, All Them Witches, YOB, Cave In, ASG, and more, brothers Conner and Chris Poole transformed the project into a focused entity that balances intensity with precision, pairing layered guitars and driving rhythms with deeply reflective songwriting.
While rooted in the same energy and authenticity as their prior work, Materializer push into darker, more expansive territory on “As The Body Flies,” exploring themes of transformation, resilience, and identity. The result is a debut that feels both evolved and immediate, one that honors the band’s history while forging something sharper and stranger.
The band just wrapped a short run of East Coast dates, playing Chattanooga, Asheville, Richmond, Lynchburg, Philadelphia, Norfolk (with Earth Tongue) and Nashville (with Moon Destroys and The Well). More tour dates and a record release show to be announced soon.
The album was written, produced, performed, co-recorded, and co-engineered by Materializer: Conner Poole on guitar and vocals, Chris Poole on drums and vocals. The album was recorded by Dave “Squirrel” Covell and Materializer, mixed by Ben McLeod (All Them Witches), and mastered by Mikey Allred at Dark Art Audio. The record arrives on Friday, October 2, pre-orders are available now through the artist’s Bandcamp.
