“MoonBladder” is the sophomore album by soundscape artists Snares Of Sixies. A collective of ever-evolving artists and musicians led by Jason Walton, the ensemble paints with a wide brush yet creates highly detailed and intricate music that lends itself to deep listening and patience. A single piece clocking in at 29:28, “MoonBladder” dips its pen in the electronics of mid-period Ulver, Ambient/Noise, meditations on field recordings and guitar, as well as cavernous vocal passages.
Walton, best known as the bassist for Agalloch, has returned to composing experimental music and “MoonBladder” is his most accomplished and rich work to date. The album features a staggering lineup of artists including members of Kayo Dot, Winds, Lawnmower Deth, and Dreadnought, among many others. “MoonBladder” was mixed by Jason Walton at Earth In Sound Studios, mastered by James Plotkin (Khanate, Sunn O))), Merzbow), completed with a cover painting by Bridget Bellavia and layout/design by Marius Sjøli, and is now confirmed for October 2021 release on a limited run of Glacier Blue 12″ vinyl.
