“Urban Vision” is the debut album by Nicola Lori, to be released on 4 October 2024 by NL Music (distributed by Burning Shed).
The album is inspired by a careful urban vision of the daily life of the human being immersed in his great metropolis, a theme already opened by Italo Calvino in “Le Città Invisibili” and in his time developed by the legendary band Banco del Mutuo Soccorso in the track “La Città Sottile” from the album “Io Sono Nato Libero” (1973).
Between references to Porcupine Tree, No-Man, Jansen Barbieri Karn, David Sylvian and King Crimson, the tracks of “Urban Vision” flow between Progressive, Art Rock and Alternative Rock.

In his solo debut, Lori is accompanied by an ensemble consisting of GRICE; Robert Aceto (David Sylvian, The Heads, Tom Tom Club, Jansen Barbieri Karn); Andrea Chimenti; Cristiano Roversi; Colin Edwin (ex-Porcupine Tree, O. R.k.); Luca Calabrese (Richard Barbieri); Nicola Alesini (Claudio Lolli); Danilo Cherni (Antonello Venditti, Goblin Rebirth); Giacomo Anselmi (Goblin Rebirth); Stefano Panunzi (Fijeri) and Angelo Strizzi (Fjieri).
Among the tracks on “Urban Vision” are “It’s Looking Like April,” composed together with Robert Aceto during the COVID-19 period; “Helios,” dedicated to his late brother and Fijeri bass player Elio Lori; “Strana la vita,” composed together with Andrea Chimenti.
