In a new interview with Lucas Gordon, Wendy Dio talked about the official documentary on R.J. Dio, funded and produced by BMG.
These are her words: “He will be out this year. I saw a first portion recently and it was really exciting. It is very different from the autobiography, because the book ends in 1986, with Ronnie playing at Madison Square Garden. The documentary, on the other hand, traces his entire life to the end. Really exciting. I saw it with my press officer and a BMG representative, who financed the documentary. We all cried. Really interesting and well done. Rob Halford was extraordinary with his stories. And so did Lita Ford and Jack Black. Eddie Trunk and Mick Wall (co-author of the autobiography, ed) contributed to the narrative. I am very pleased. I don’t know exactly when it will come out, but in the course of this year.“
