Sunnata has been wandering around Polish and European scenes for 10 years, gaining new followers. The group’s upcoming fifth album is full of the band’s characteristic long, trance-like and diverse compositions combining Atmospheric Post-Metal, Psychedelia and Doom with a lot of melancholy.
The recording was created as part of the project “Soulstone Gathering Route – toolset of activities for a fairer and more professional independent Rock music market” co-financed by the European Union.
Sunnata (sanskr. noun emptiness, voidness) is a four-piece Warsaw-based band playing genre acclaimed by the media as Heavy ritual music.
Sunnata have kept paving their own way to higher metal skies since their 2014 debut “Climbing The Colossus.” Weaving together sounds of the Heaviest kind, Dark Psychedelia and Grunge-infused hooks and vocals, the gifted foursome crafts a trippy and epic brand of sound that can only be accurately described as trance-inducing, immersive soundscape. Their spellbinding sophomore album “Zorya” (2016) made the band gather even more momentum with regard to the European alternative heavy scene. Third album entitled “Outlands” (2018) brilliantly brought out even more ‘Ritual’ in the ‘Heavy’, confidently crossing the frontier of Progressive Doom to land in even more melancholic and mind-expanding alleys. Sunnata are back and set to blow minds once again with their fourth full-length material “Burning In Heaven, Melting On Earth.”
Known from expressive and Atmospheric live performances, Sunnata has already took part in various international festivals and been invited to open for Mastodon, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, The Sword, Sleep, Kylesa, Ufomammut or Rotting Christ, just to name some of the most remarkable influencers.
Returning in 2021 with “Burning In Heaven, Melting On Earth,” Sunnata are at their most transcendent, melding together all the heaviness, intensity and tenderness into a graceful, cross pollinating form to create something incredible that demands attention and respect. From here Sunnata are free to roam wherever.
