Waiting for the full lenght album “Control-Z,” a gigantic concept album that has taken 7 years to be released due to its complexity not just from a musical point of view, Post Generation released the second single: “About Last Night.” Stream the track through the YouTube player below:
The universe portrayed here is a dystopian reality, a mind trap controlled by the Control-Z office that has the specific function to undo any bad feelings or emotions of the inhabitants creating a mass of zombified citizens. Although you could argue that the story contained in it is purely fictional, this album is somehow autobiographical and portrays the inner dilemma that can be found in each of us when facing the choice to live a life that is driven by passion or fear.
Matteo Bevilacqua, frontman of the band, tells us:
“…this is an absolutely personal and, if you like, autobiographical passage. The lyric reveals the cruel mechanics of the dystopian world described in Control-Z. Recorded partly in Turin and partly in Nuremberg, together with session drummer Christof Stahl (…) The world is controlled by an office called Control-Z which has the precise task of undoing (undo, as does the “CTRL-Z” command on a computer) any sense of guilt due to a bad action. The mechanism generates a zombified mass of people who can no longer feel anything and consequently take responsibility for their actions…“
Post Generation started off in 2014 as a side project from Diaries Of A Hero‘s bass player Matteo Bevilacqua. The British/Italian musician took a step away from his Heavy Metal background and explored different musical paths, following the footsteps of bands such as Porcupine Tree, Anathema, Pain Of Salvation and the softer side of Opeth.
Recorded in the Sciolze hills, Italy, the debut album “The Lost Generation” (Musea Parallèle, 2014) examined various themes focusing mainly on the conditions the youth are living in, and the overall tension that peeked in the 2011 London Riots.
